The Abstraction Rug Collection Has the Power To Unite a Space

Already making a mark on the rug industry for its quality and masterful craftsmanship while still in their infancy, Atelier Tapis Rouge introduces the Abstraction Collection. Within the series are two rugs – Abstraction and Abstraction III – designed by Natalia Enze, the brand’s Head of Design, who was inspired by the 20th century’s avant-garde movement. The collection’s eclectic designs, with some bolder than others, use fragmented forms and various geometries to act as any space’s visual protagonist while uniting other elements through color, charm, and personality.

The atelier’s rug-making techniques carry on a deep ancestral know-how originating from ancient Persian tradition, specifically in Nepal. Through this skillset, reproductions of patterns and shapes use the hand-weaving and knotting of wool and silk yarns to create original, timeless products. A combination of unexpected shapes, textures, and colorways translated throughout the overall Abstraction Collection helps create a visual language within each piece of unique, contemporary, and functional art.

Composition I.I, IV, V, and V.II rugs from the Abstraction collection are a merge of craft and design, blending color and shape into masterpieces through the use of neutral, light color palettes. At the other end of the spectrum, Abstraction III features saturated color, texture, curved lines, and varying pile heights for a balance of visual and tactile qualities that are the embodiment of imagination at work. Whichever you find yourself drawn toward, there is no wrong answer, only art.
