But unlike many of these machines on the market, this particular product promises a level of visual impact as bold as its display is clear.

Pleasing Design
Though CineBeam Q boasts technical prowess, its design sensibilities will pull focus for potential customers with discerning taste. Gone are the days of consumer electronics existing free from aesthetics, and rightfully so. New products are expected to assimilate appropriately as technology integrates more and more with the home. And while some will shop for items that clearly articulate their novelty, others will look for smart home furnishings that read as beautiful objects like CineBeam Q.

Its industrial designers have managed to slough off negative connotations sometimes associated with these things looking too “techy,” “digital,” or “electrified.” Instead, the projector exudes a future nostalgia feeling as it tempers gadgetry with a soft steel finish, mod geometry, and simple contrasting texture. Its ability to code-switch between differing visual languages allows it to lean into hyper modern spaces or those of a more transitional style.

What happens to spark great joy is perhaps the most basic, and novel, feature of all – its Light Drawing function. Color Spectrum Sensors configure the projector to enhance interior ambiance with captivating digital images. This image-mapping technology renders photos onto the wall at which it is aimed for tranquil mood lighting or to invigorate any space.

Portability
Despite its modest size, LG delivers a significant return on investment when it comes to the technology bundled tightly within CineBeam Q’s orthogonal body. Measuring roughly 5 x 5 x 3 inches, it’s no bigger than a deluxe pair of headphones one might already carry on their person. And at just over 3 lbs, it doesn’t weigh much more than a small alarm clock. Paired with its 360-degree rotating handle, which doubles as a kickstand, the unit’s placability is also maximized as users may move it from bookshelf to tabletop to any other surface of their choosing.

CineBeam Q’s portability is bolstered, in part, by its industry-leading picture quality, which is achieved with an Auto Screen Adjustment feature that accommodates quick and easy setup almost anywhere. This function removes pain points often created by the need to manually calibrate screen alignment or optimize focus prior to use. Once ready, the device projects up to 120 inches of crisp image for a stunning clean-cut rectangular view in seconds. Its performance is far more powerful when compared to competitors in the same weight class punching up in specs regarding resolution (4K UHD Laser), color accuracy, articulation of detail, contrast (with a dynamic 450,000:1 ratio), and brightness.

What’s more, it plays well with apps allowing easy access to subscriptions and OTT streaming services with the user’s ability to thumb through contents via webOS and AirPlay2/ScreenShare. Movies, music videos, television, and web content can all be enjoyed from one source unencumbered by additional large equipment. Connectivity is as simple as ScreenShare functionality with AirPlay and Bluetooth or HDMI/USB-C connection.
